So what do you do if you really want to get off to a fast start exploring before concentrating on getting your character to higher levels ( you can easily do this later in the game  ) ?

Well there is an underground tram between Stormwind and Ironforge – 2 of the biggest cities in the Eastern Kingdoms.  This is something that not too many new players know about .  Ironforge is the Dwarf stronghold in the mountains of Dun Morogh, North of Northshire and Elwynn Forest.  Stormwind is a huge city and center of human activity, a fairly safe walk west of Northshire Valley.  The extra good thing is that Dun Morogh is a comparably safe region like Elwyn – it’s where the Dwarves start out from.

After you’ve completed a simple warcraft quest or two to get your bearings and find out how things are done, head South through the gates of Northshire Valley to the town at Goldshire, then the North-West road will take you to Stormwind.  If you stick to the main roads ( both in Elwyn and Dun Morogh ) you’ll be pretty safe.  The wolves, bears and other wild animals avoid the main well-trodden paths – so don’t stray off them.

Stormwind itself is awe-inspiring to explore, but once you’re ready, head into the Dwarven District, which is the Northern section of Stormwind.  You should be able to find the Deeprun Tram fairly easily.  Then it’s a fast ride that ends high in the Mountains at Ironforge.  You’ll get off in Tinkertown, which is between the Hall of Explorers and the Military Ward.   The great gates of Ironforge are at the West.
